Taking over for Vince Pinto after his 37 years of service to WRCS in November, 2014, Mr. Ruth brings extensive management and leadership experience in running a professional service business, along with extensive non-profit and fund raising experience. Since graduating from John Carroll University in 1978, he has developed a strong Lake County based network and key relationships with a wide range of business, government and community leaders. Mr. Ruth brings a unique blend of business, consulting and non-profit experience to support the agency's plans to expand their impact and reach in Lake County.
Prior to joining WRCS, Mr. Ruth served as the Director of Resource Development for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Ohio for 3 years, responsible for fund raising and volunteer recruiting for the agency. Prior to that, he served as the Chief Operating Officer for Wendell August Forge, and before that owned and operated several consulting service firms in the Information Systems industry. Throughout his working career, Mr. Ruth has served as a volunteer for many local non-profit organizations in various roles. In 1995, he served as the Campaign Chair for the United Way of Lake County's annual Campaign, served as Past President of the Mentor Area Chamber of Commerce, and has served on numerous other Boards, including Leadership Lake County, Mentor Chamber, Big Brothers Big Sisters NEO, and Lakeland Community College's Foundation. He has also been a member of various planning and needs assessment committees for Lake County.
Mark earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from John Carroll University in 1978, along with a secondary degree in Computer Programming. Since 1978 he has lived in Lake County and presently resides in Painesville Township, having raised 3 children who are now grown up.
Roger Mize, MSW, ACSW, LISW-S
Roger has been employed by WRCS since October of 1996. Initially, he was hired as a part-time therapist, being promoted to his present position of Clinical Director in November of 2002.
Prior to being employed at WRCS Roger was a therapist in the Adult Department of Point One Behavioral Healthcare Network from 1991 to 1996, and in the Counseling/Dual Diagnosis Unit of Washtenaw County Community Mental Health Center, Ann Arbor Michigan from 1988 to 1991.
Roger is a member of the National Association of Social Workers, and the International Association for the Study of Dissociation. Specialized areas of expertise include Anger Management/Domestic Violence, PTSD, dissociative disorders, dual diagnosis, and mood disorders.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Borromeo College, and a Masters in Social Work from The University of Michigan School of Social Work, Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Kelly Christy, MA, M.Ed., LPCC-S
Kelly was initially employed by WRCS July of 1993 to October of 2000 as a full- time therapist and Clinical Supervisor of the agency’s Anger Management/Domestic Violence Program. She returned to the agency in April 2008. In the interim she was at Pathways, Inc. where she served as the Director of Counseling/ Psychotherapy Services.
Kelly completed her education at Cleveland State University earning a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She went on to complete a Master of Arts in Clinical/Counseling Psychology and a Master of Education in Community Agency Counseling.
She is licensed by the state of Ohio as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and is designated as a supervisor for clinical residents. She maintains membership with the American Counseling Association. Kelly has extensive experience in assisting clients with Anger Management issues and in diagnosing and treating individuals with severe mental disorders including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and Schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders. She has had some experience working with the MR/DD population with adjustment disorders. She holds a special interest in personality disorders, grief and PTSD.
Barbara J. Wiedmann, M.Ed., LPCC-S
Barb has been employed by WRCS since November of 2008 as a part-time therapist. Prior to her being employed at WRCS she was employed over a period of 17 years by Catholic Charities of Lake and Geauga Counties, Neighboring Mental Health Services, the Catholic Services League of Ashtabula, Geriatric Group Counselor at the Catholic Service Bureau in Painesville, and Adult Emergency Intake at the Lake County Mental Health Center. She was also a volunteer at the Forbes House.
Barb is licensed as a Professional Clinical Counselor, State of Ohio. She earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Masters of Education in Community Counseling from The University Of Akron.
Christin Carrabine, M. Ed., LPCC-S
member of our staff, Christin Carrabine, LPCC-S, is licensed by the state of
Ohio as a Professional Clinical Counselor with a Supervisory endorsement. She
received a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies and a
Master’s degree in Community Counseling from Kent State University. Christin is
currently continuing her education at Kent State University pursuing a PhD in
Counseling and Human Development Services. Christin has over 7 years of
experience in providing individual, couples, and family counseling. She works
with children, adolescents, and adults presenting with such concerns as life
adjustments and stressors, anger management, domestic violence, childhood disorders,
mood and anxiety disorders, trauma and grief, relationship issues, family
discord, and substance abuse. Christin takes a strengths based approach with
clients and views counseling as a growth process where counselor and client
collaborate to develop objectives and strategies to help clients in reaching
Tara Oakey-Kist, M. Ed., LPCC
The newest member of our staff, Tara is presently serving as one of our intern counselors while pursuing a Masters of Social Work at Youngstown State University (anticipated completion in May, 2018). She has obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree at Ursuline College. Prior to pursuing her degree in counseling, Tara co-founded Kist Chiropractic and Wellness Center in Ashtabula in 1999 and was licensed in chiropractic medicine in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Tara presently resides in Lake County.
Diane Romeo, Bookkeeping/Financial Manager
Since 2014, Diane has handled all aspects of our agency's accounts payable, payroll/HR, contracts, financial reporting, contracts and many other office duties. Diane is a graduate of Riverside High School and resides in Lake County.
Karen is an administrative assistant and one of the new members of our team. She handles all aspects of our billing system, greeting clients, taking new client intakes, handling bank deposits, scheduling of client appointments, and many other office duties. Karen is a graduate of Ursuline College where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree concentrating on Interior Design. Karen volunteers her design talents for the Lake County YMCA Dream Home, Big Brothers Big Sisters of NEO Festival of Trees and Color Your Corner and offers design consulting services for residential and commercial clients for floor plan design, color/design coordination, window treatment planning and design, etc.
Julie has been an important member of our WRCS team since April, 2011. She is responsible for maintaining the integrity and quality of our client records, is our agency Safety Coordinator and assists with many other duties including greeting clients, scheduling client appointments and supporting our claim/billing responsibilities.
Hannah Princic, Administrative Assistant
Hannah joined our agency staff serving as a volunteer in September, 2015 to support our administrative needs and to round out her practical work experience while pursuing her career objective as a mental health counselor. She quickly became a valued and full time staff member of WRCS and currently supports a wide variety of agency needs including taking new client intakes, maintaining client records, scheduling client appointments, supporting our billing process and taking on special assignments/projects for our agency technology needs, marketing, community outreach and other agency matters. She is presently enrolled in Cleveland State's School of Education counseling programs and is pursuing her Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. In March, 2016, she will begin serving as a counseling intern as a member of our counseling staff.
Molly Princic, Administrative Assistant
Molly is presently attending classes to pursue her Bachelor's degree at Cleveland State University, majoring in Psychology. She works part time to support our agency's administrative needs serving at the front desk to greet and assist client's with scheduling, assisting with new client intakes, maintaining client records, assisting therapists with word processing needs, and supporting a number of other special projects. After completing her Bachelor's degree, Molly would like to obtain her Masters and serve as a future intern with our counseling program.
